| Trade Between Yunnan Province and India Broke Through US$100 Million for the First Time |

In 2004. the trade between Yunnan Province and India grew with a high speed. According to Kunming Customs statistics, in the first 3 quarters, Yunnan's foreign trade with India totally amounted to US$110 million, breaking through US$100 million for the first time, up by 1.5 times on a year-on-year basis.
In 2003, trade between Yunnan and India reached US$61.33 million. India has become the 7th biggest trading partner of Yunnan Province.
Main reasons for the fast increase in trade between Yunnan province and India were:
A big imports of iron ore drove up imports by 2.6 times on year-on-year basis , accounting for 91.8% of total imports. Meanwhile, main exports of Yunnan to India were phosphor increased by 1.2 times on a year-on-year basis in the first three quarter. Besides, spices, phosphorus products and aluminum were exports with big values of Yunnan to India. Recently, main form of trade was conventional trade.
